Illustration course alumnus Ben Cain gave a very personal and insightful talk to current third years.
It was great to hear Ben talk about the thoughts he had as a student and how his career keeps taking different directions after his graduation eight or so years ago.
Ben has produced books for the Folio Society, as well as a variety of editorial commissions but he is also involved with a lot of graphic design work. A very interesting perspective of the range of work that illustrators can be part of.
Excellent talk last week by Isabel Greenberg.
Isabel spoke about researching for her graphic novels, the importance of being on location and drawing from observation and mythology as a source of inspiration.
